Architecture and Design of Buildings for Events and Leisure

Architecture and design of an events-and-leisure venue in A Coruña, created for a company that required expansive facilities to host large banquets and major performances.

The different areas are arranged to be experienced naturally as a large-scale event unfolds—moving from reception, through the bar, and on to the restaurant and gardens.

The concept is based on a series of walls or screens supporting an imposing structure that enables clean, wide spans without columns. The orientation of these walls is adjusted according to the views, always directed toward the pool and the ocean.

To improve natural lighting and create outdoor zones sheltered from the wind, side courtyards have been integrated next to the restaurant and café, accompanied by dense planting to soften the hardness of the stone and other austere materials.

The exterior features a bar counter, a large shallow pool, multiple lounger areas, and low-maintenance aromatic gardens.

Parking is confined to the edges of the plot, with only a service access for event operations, thereby avoiding vehicle parking in the immediate vicinity of the building.
