This house was designed specifically for the north of Galicia, a region marked by high humidity and constant exposure to harsh weather. The architectural scheme allows for spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean while offering robust protection to its occupants.
The design is conceived to evoke a sense of refuge and security—especially on the first floor, which recalls the structure of a bunker. This configuration helps residents feel sheltered and safe from the area’s adverse climate.
The house is built with board-formed exposed concrete, which provides a modern, robust aesthetic and ensures great durability and weather resistance. Mahogany is used for the access and circulation core, adding warmth and a touch of elegance. Natural stone appears throughout the project, harmoniously integrating the home with its surroundings and reinforcing its solid, timeless character.
Beyond its solidity and protective design, the house delivers a unique visual experience. Expansive views of the Atlantic are central to the proposal, allowing inhabitants to enjoy the seascape from the comfort of home—fostering a sense of openness and freedom while preserving the privacy and shelter essential for comfortable living.
